When Aphrodite was born she was given pearls and shells. Everybody loved and adored her. With every step she takes, flowers bloom. Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty, everyone knew once she was born. Every Greek God and Goddess wanted to meet her. Zeus demanded that she should be married right away, so he handed her off to his song Hephaestus. Hephaestus liked being with Aphrodite. However, Aphrodite didn't really like being with Hephaestus. He made jewelry for her including her famous girdle. Aphrodite had an affair with Ares. All of Olympia knew about it. This made Hephaestus furious. He eventually trapped the two and took them to Olympia. He demanded a punishment, but the Gods laughed. Hephaestus ended up having to live with Aphrodite and Ares together. She also had an affair with the mortal Adonis. This was hard for her since she is immortal. Once Adonis was hunting and he was killed by a wild boar. For a memorial, Aphrodite turned Adonis's blood into wildflowers.
Aphrodite's most famous child is Eros aka Cupid. Cupid is the god of love so he helped his mother work. His job was to shoot arrows covered with Aphrodite's potion. When the arrows hit a person, they would fall in love with the next person they saw.
